Our Statement of Purpose

The RAM Project C.I.C. exists to increase access to creativity, improve wellbeing and strengthen communities through high-quality, inclusive arts and craft activities across Lancashire, Cumbria and the surrounding areas.

Our mission is to remove barriers that prevent people from participating in creative opportunities. We believe everyone should have access to the physical, emotional and social benefits of making and creating, regardless of age, background, income or personal circumstances.

The RAM Project C.I.C. will deliver creative workshops, community projects, outreach programmes and educational activities for children, young people, adults and families. We will work particularly with people who may face barriers to participation, including those experiencing financial hardship, individuals in challenging circumstances, people who are not in mainstream education, isolated older adults, people living in rural communities, and groups traditionally underrepresented within the arts, including boys, men and people from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

Our activities will celebrate traditional craft skills alongside contemporary creative practice. Workshops may include printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, casting, textiles, jewellery, mixed media, natural crafts and heritage skills, encouraging participants to develop practical skills, confidence, resilience and creativity.

Alongside delivering workshops, we aim to build lasting community connections through collaborative projects, exhibitions, partnerships with schools, community organisations, charities and local authorities, and by creating opportunities for participants to share their work and learn from one another.

The Company will actively seek grants, donations and partnerships to ensure that programmes remain affordable or free wherever possible. Any surplus generated by The RAM Project C.I.C. will be reinvested directly into delivering community activities, purchasing equipment and materials, developing new programmes, supporting volunteers, expanding access to disadvantaged groups and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

Through creativity, connection and shared making, The RAM Project C.I.C. aims to improve wellbeing, reduce social isolation, preserve traditional craft skills, inspire lifelong learning and help build stronger, healthier and more connected communities.
